INGREDIENTS BACKSTORY

Cinq à Sept - Black Friday Special

Jasmine Sambac is known for its enchanting allure, a blending of delicate aroma with irresistible charm. Striking on its own, it also embraces other fragrance notes with a subtle warmth, adding nuance and personality to a fragrance composition. Jasmine sambac pairs well with bergamot: bergamot gives brightness, jasmine sambac adds depth.

Mimosa is captivating, known for a flirtatious ability to meld with other notes in a scent. This bright flower is known for its beloved aroma, best described as light, powdery, and floral. A notable pairing is with Vetiver, as the earthy and woodsy scent of Vetiver enhances the light and floral aroma of Mimosa, creating a uniquely captivating scent.

Sandalwood is known for its rich, warm and woodsy aroma, which can be described as grounding and comforting. It has been used for centuries in perfumery, and is considered one of the most valuable and sought-after woody notes. Sandalwood is often used as the base note, lending depth and longevity. Particularly noteworthy when combined with ingredients like mimosa, as floral scents brings out the warmth and sweetness of sandalwood.

Mimosa

Mimosa, a thorny shrub originating in Australia, made its way to Europe at the end of the 17th century, starting first in Great Britain. It was the wealthy Anglo-Saxons who brought the plant with them on vacations in France in the 1860s, where it quickly spread along the Mediterranean coast near Menton. Mimosa has become a vibrant symbol of winter in the south of France, where it grows prolifically in the Var region where the Cote d'Azur and Provence meet. The soft, powdery aroma of these flowers is well-balanced with a range of other scents, making it a popular ingredient in perfumes.

Sandalwood

Sandalwood is a class of woods from trees in the genus Santalum, known for its rich, warm, and woody scent that has been cherished for centuries for its versatility and unique aromatic properties. The woods are heavy, yellow, and fine-grained, and unlike many other aromatic woods, they retain their fragrance for decades. Indian sandalwood is scientifically termed as Santalum album, which is a native species of South India and widely grown in the Western Ghats, Kalrayan, and Shevaroy Hills. Sandalwood is a hemiparasite tree that cannot live without being planted close to appropriate species like neem and pyerocarpus. Sandalwood possesses a sweet, strong, creamy, and milky precious-wood scent that imparts a long-lasting, alluring aroma to perfumes, incense, and cosmetics.
