THE EXPERIENCE

Stories by Mail, Written to Be Kept

Each mailing draws you further into the lives of its characters, giving every revelation time to settle before the next arrives. By the final dispatch, the story exists not only in memory, but in the correspondence you have gathered along the way.

A Story That Returns to You

A letter arrives and introduces one version of events. The next mailing may complicate it with a newspaper report, a private confession, or evidence its writer never expected anyone to examine.

Between dispatches, there is time to wonder whom you believe and what has been left unsaid. Earlier details linger. Suspicions form. Characters continue to live in the imagination before the next envelope carries you further.

The interval is part of the story.

Depending on the series, your mailings may include letters, diaries, society columns, telegrams, photographs, maps, menus, receipts, transcripts, invitations, and other papers from the characters’ world.

The Correspondence Is the Story

Postscript Society stories are created as correspondence from their beginning. They are not conventional novels divided into envelopes.

The narrative develops through the papers the characters would naturally write, receive, publish, conceal, misplace, or leave behind. A public notice may preserve the respectable version of an event while a private letter reveals what actually occurred. A receipt or staff memorandum may quietly undermine both.

Every piece has a place in the story. Together, the mailings become its complete physical edition: an archive you can handle, arrange, revisit, and keep.

Something to Anticipate

The narrative continues beyond a single sitting, giving each new arrival the pleasure of an occasion.

Something to Investigate

Different documents reveal different perspectives, rewarding attention without turning the story into homework.

Something to Keep

When the final dispatch arrives, the accumulated papers remain as the complete record of the world you followed.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Questions About the Correspondence

Postscript Society creates original stories by mail for readers who want fiction to unfold beyond the conventional page. Each literary subscription arrives in sequence through letters, newspapers, diaries, telegrams, and other papers from inside the story, allowing its characters, relationships, and mysteries to develop over time.

The collection spans historical fiction, romance, mystery, fantasy, and adventure. Every series contains a complete narrative, with its number of mailings, delivery schedule, reading age, and story details clearly explained before you begin.

What is a story by mail?

A story by mail is a work of serialized fiction told through physical documents from its fictional world. Instead of receiving a conventional book, you follow the narrative through letters, diaries, newspapers, telegrams, photographs, transcripts, and other papers connected to its characters.

What will I receive?

The contents vary according to the story. Each mailing may contain one substantial document or several connected pieces.

The individual story page explains its number of installments, delivery schedule, and representative contents before purchase.

How often will the story arrive?

The schedule varies by series. Some stories arrive twice monthly, while others are delivered through longer monthly installments.

The exact schedule is shown on every story page.

Will I receive the complete story?

Yes. Your purchase includes the complete narrative in the number of mailings stated on the story page.

Do I need to solve puzzles?

No. Postscript Society creates literary stories rather than puzzle boxes.

Some series contain codes, clues, or details that reward close attention, but these elements do not prevent you from understanding the narrative unless a story is specifically described as an interactive mystery.

Do I need to write back?

No. The story is complete without any response from the reader.

Can I begin at any time?

Unless a story is marked as a limited seasonal release, you may begin with its first mailing at any time.

Can I send a story as a gift?

Yes. The correspondence can be sent directly to the recipient. Available gift presentation and scheduling options are shown during purchase..

Is this intended for adults?

Postscript Society is created primarily for adult readers. That said, stories are all family-friendly. Recommended reading ages and relevant content guidance are provided on each individual story page.
